I’d make VOIP clarity more … clearer. Less scrambled or static-imbued.
I’d also make hardware like mobile phones and PDAs (& their attachments) sturdier, harder to bend and break. Because I’ve wrecked hundreds of dollars of equipment the past few years with very little effort.
Good question!

1. I’d make the ‘pages’ section of wordpress admin load faster.
2. I’d take that stupid restriction of itunes/ipod that prevents me syncing to more than one computer

I would have my basic PC workings…actually work smoothly. No more odd errors, slow performance, weird stuff that can’t be explained or troubleshooted by online knowledgbase or phone support.
Yeah…. I know there is the path of migrating to MAC….but for now PC it is…and that is the 1 thing I would change.

I would create a help system that was tested on people who were slow learners in the IT sense! IN fact, I’d volunteer to be the testee as my contribution to the universe

Thanks Pete, Marc, Paula and Lee
All very interesting answers. In mind mind these can all be group into a category called “difference between performance and expectation of user”.
Some of the things I would change would be :
1. Equipment that power itself off after not being used for a certain period of time, rather than just going into “standby mode” (would save on power).
2. Easy to use tools that would help people like my parents manage new digital media, like digital images, and not loose their files to a case of “I’m not sure what I’m doing but let’s press this button”.
