The first of the month has become a tradition for Blog Tipping. You may or may not have participated in this monthly ritual. I was fortunate to have been tipped in last month by Carolyn Manning at Thoughts & Philosophies and am a little ashamed that I have not been a regular contributor to this wonderful discovery and sharing of blogs that I know and admire.
[tag]Blog Tipping [/tag] Day is one of the many blog projects started by [tag]Easton Ellsworth [/tag]1 year ago today (happy anniversary Easton!)
Generally I would need to include details about the site, what I like and any recommendations but seeing that it is already the evening of May 1st (and I am racing out the door to football training) I will just make mention of my tips now and come back to them tomorrow and add the extra details. UPDATED : The extra details are now in place. Make sure you drop by and visit these great sites.
Freaked Out Fathers
Created and written by my good friend, and rugby league tipping colleague, Pete Aldin. Even though it is targeted to fathers there is much goodness there for women to smile about too.
What I like : the honesty, the humour, the warmth and all in a site written by and for “blokes”
What I’d like to see more of : I love to see you share more of your wisdom to help in those freaked out moments
If you are a manager or leader and deal with people in medium to large companies then hear are 2 women that you need to pay attention to -
Complete Potential
Megan Tough provides great information that will get you through many of the practical how-tos of being a manager. She cuts to the chase and doesn’t woofle on with fluff (oops there’s one of the reasons I like her writing).
What I like : the practical how to nature of the posts, the post on “persuasion as a leadership skill”
What I’d like to see more of : Just a couple more posts (only talking 2) than you are writing at the moment would be great and would really flesh out your blog
Values Connection
Karynne Courts is, in my opinion anyway, one of the leading lights on corporate and leadership values. Her blog reflects her own personal values and offers up questions and examples of values-based thinking and action that we can apply in every day life.
What I like : the passion for values that comes through in the writing and the link between leadership and outback wisdom (drawn from her own experiences growing up at the “back of Bourke”)
What I’d like to see more of : I want read/see/experience more of your wisdom! Don’t worry if it’s perfect or not just write from the heart.
Note : I have done work for each of these people at some stage on their web presence but believe that regardless of my work and personal connection with these people they each have something great to offer on their blog.
Gotta go! I’ll be back to add more details tomorrow.

[...] I’m thinking (procrastinating, more like) about Leah Maclean’s recent challenge to me to add some pearls of wisdom to this blog, here’s some more meaningless [...]

Damn - caught in a low blogging period. You are right Leah - blogging needs to get and stay in my schedule, not get re-prioritised by other things.
Many thanks for the mention - you are a star.
